Passthru Power Cable Doesn't Pass Through
|
| Review Date: February 10, 2010 |
| Reviewer: Nathanael Huddleson, Conway, AR USA |
I just returned this item, and here's why:
I've had this for about a month now, and thought I loved it. I thought the passthrough power cable was a great idea - it wouldn't take up another power outlet in my crowded entertainment center. And it worked well... for a while. Then, in the middle of a tough level in New Super Mario Wii, the system just turned off. At first, I thought it was a game glitch, so I turned the Wii back on and played again... it died again in a few minutes, with the Wii power light turning red. I remembered the way the charger hooked in a decided to check if it was loose. So I unplugged it and plugged it back in. Then the light on the Wii started flickering. I took out the passthru cable, and everything worked fine.
I stopped to actually look closely at the passthru cable after that, and realized how cheaply it was made. Light plastic, and it doesn't even fit firmly in it's "passthrough" position. You think they would be more careful with something that can interrupt the power to the system that the charger charges controllers for.
The rest of the unit works just fine, but this one problem, and the fact that there is no other way to power the unit, makes it a useless piece of junk.
DON'T BUY THIS, or you will be returning it too (just see the other review, they had the same problem, but it didn't even work for a month for them). |

| Waste of time. Plugged it in and neither the wii or the charger will stay on. Red light on wii and blue lights on charger intermittently blink. Returned after trying it. |
