Great cold-weather activity for my kids!

Wii Sports Resort is a great cold-weather activity for my kids, and you can't beat the value for this bundle with two Wii MotionPlus adapters. If you value each MotionPlus at $20, then you get the Sports Resort game for only $17! We use this game almost every night for our 2 girls, age 7 and 4-1/2, to get them up off the couch and moving around after dinner, rather than just watching TV.

My 4-1/2 year old loves Wakeboarding the most, because she was able to figure out how to do very high jumps pretty quickly. She also likes skydiving, flying around in a plane, and dog frisbee. My 7-year-old likes many of the sports, but her particular favorites are swordfighting, archery, and frisbee golf. I'd buy the game just for frisbee golf, actually. My 7-year-old is surprisingly competitive in frisbee golf against me and my father, because you don't have to hit a small target - you just have to throw the frisbee within a yard of the hole to get it in. Many of the games are loads of fun for my girls to compete against each other, against their friends, or against me and my wife.

Also, even though many of the games are somewhat simplistic, we get lots of repeated play by seeing which of us has the high-score crown at any time. The game awards a high score crown for every sport, and at every difficulty level, so each of my girls can have multiple high scores simultaneously. Whenever any of them gets a new crown, they even make me take a picture of them standing next to the crown. You also get various awards (stamps) for accomplishing certain things, like becoming a pro or passing the 10th or 20th swordfighting level, which gives the girls something to shoot for after they master the basic game controls.

This game has continued to be played almost every day in our house since it was released in July, and the girls have not gotten bored of it yet. With the addition of the two MotionPlus adapters, I recommend that every Wii owner purchase this bundle!
Fun simple games that are engaging

I have a confession to make I bought this for my husband and me. There are no kids in the house. We are not heavy into gaming and the WII was bought primarily for the WII fit.

So, from an adult point of view here goes.

A collection of fun games, that bring out a competitive nature. It is great that each game typically takes only a few minutes so several can be rounds can be played, enjoyed, and a sense of competition is created.

The collection of games has some similar to those on the WII Sports disk and a lot that are new. The Frisbee games and wake board rider have been two of my favorite. My husband feels that with the `motion plus' the golf is much better.

Overall a great addition to my WII collection of games and one that will probably be actively used for a long time to come.
Rockin' !!!!

Reviewer: Panchon Lopez,
I bought this for my 9-year old and myself immediately after playing it at a friends house. Our Wii has been gathering a little dust and I saw we could inject some new life into our old toy. We have been having a blast playing games with each other. The games are fun and the motion controller works great. My arms are getting a good workout too!

The motion plus is not perfect, but it's pretty darn good nonetheless. I played table tennis on a team at a young age and playing on the Wii is amazing. I have access to chop, lobs, slams, topspin and the ball and paddle reacts as it should. If only there were sidespin and choice of paddle rubber....very impressive all the same.
And the archery.....super cool.

It also tracks your progress, letting you compete against yourself and pitting you against equal opponents.

My favorite part is playing multi-player games. Sure, I can beat my daughter at table tennis, but it's pretty humbling to get stomped by her in a sword duel and she's getting very good at archery and bowling! It's great to be able to compete with her and we have a good laugh and get some exercise too.

I'm from the Atari generation and love a good computer game. The motion plus makes me wonder what video games will be like in a few generations--the future's lookin' sweet!
Must calibrate often.

It is a fun game my favorite so far is the sword fighting and Frisbee games. The games are a fine addition to the Wii Sports lineage. My issue stems from the fact that at the beginning you must calibrate the "MotionPlus" by placing it face down on a flat surface and the game recommends you stop you game and recalibrate it any time you think it is not behaving correctly. I had read reviews before I bought this product. Reviews with people saying that this is what the Wii should have been like from the start, and how it is awesome. I just feel that it is another flawed add-on to fix a flawed device. I was expecting perfection and was seriously disappointed. Maybe it's possible to make it better with a system update or perhaps the new games using "MotionPlus" will have solved this issue. Bottom line when it works it is awesome but when it doesn't its frustrating.
Amazing

I bought this game for my brother in law. The primary reason I got this game was, it had 2 motionplus. Normally motionplus retails for $20, so there is a huge savings.

The games are addictive and one cannot get done with them. We had hours of fun playing each and every game on the dics. Its a little tricky getting used to the remote (remember its my first time playing wii), but after a point it grows on you and one starts enjoying.
Gave a second life to our Wii Console

My wife and I ( ages 62 and 58 ) got the Wii when it first came out, and played every day
for months - especially Tennis, Golf, and Bowling. But in time we got bored, and played less
often.

This upgrade has put the Wii back into our daily routine. The Golf is much better, both
from the additional 9 holes and better graphics. Bowling is better - the controller is more
sensitive to hand movement, and the 100-pin bowling is really a kick.

There are a lot of new games - here are the ones we like and why:
1) Canoe race - this is a good physical workout because you are using your
upper body a lot. Also a lot of fun - there is a 'bumper cars' aspect to
it that is cute. And the three different courses give you a good range.

2) Flying - a fun exploration game where you fly a plane and search for markers.
The graphics are beautiful, and the way that you use the Wii controller to fly the
plane is great.

3) Table Tennis - my wife loves this, since she usually beats me 6-3 every game. But
it is a nice game to two adult to play.

I have tried all the other games, and they all work, but these are my favorites.

What is missing - an updated Wii Tennis. Hopefully Nintendo will release an update to
Tennis, because with the better graphics and controller, Wii Tennis could be even better.
awesome to have

I got this Wii game yesterday and i tried a few games so my review may not be complete. However, i have to admit it was pure fun to play the games. I also got the motion plus controllers with this bundle and hooking them up with my existing Wii controller was a breeze. When you load the DVD it takes you through a video demo of how to connect and disconnect the regular Wii controller with this motion controller addon plus the nunchuck but is only a short video so no biggie.

Now, i played ping pong (table tennis) first and found it amazingly wonderful. I can actually put top spin on the ball and i can see it react to my hand movement. I actually won my first 6 pointer game!! wow!

Next, i tried the canoeing game. It was a very cool game and it was fun rowing the canoe.I have never canoed or rowed a boat. So, i found it difficult to keep the canoe straight. However, it was fun.

NExt, i tried the Frisbee game. OMG! the little dog that catches your frisbee is soooo cute. I actually got the hang of it as i used to play frisbee golf. Man! it is so real playing this Wii game. You can actually fade or draw the frisbee. I was very impressed

I also tried the golf game. This is way better than the one that comes with Wii.I have not tried the Tiger Woods game but i loved this. It is going to take me a little longer to get used to the golf game and i am also worried that playing Wii golf might screw up my real golf swing (16 handicapper).

I haven't tried the rest of the games like cycling, sword fighting etc. Will prolly do so this weekend. Overall i am very impressed. I have never been a video gamer and i used to hate those SEGA dreamcast controls and XBox controls as it was hard for me to press various buttons in various combinations.

I think Wii is a revolutionary video gaming tool and i love every bit of this. I gave a 4 star rating 'cos i have only tried a few games and i am not so sure about the golf game. Will modify rating after a while :) This Wii sports resort is worth the money!!
Great game but save yourself $20+

The game is a 5, but the deal is a 1. Why not save yourself $20 and buy the single Wii MotionPlus package and a second controller separately.
good sequel

Sports resort is a good sequel to Wii Sports. The addition of motion plus adds a new demension, and if you are like me that means troubles in games like golf. I especially like frisbee golf and also enjoy frisbee dog. The fly over the island was great, wish there were levels after completeing it, its over. Canoeing is ok, table tennis is really good & i wish they included regular tennis as well. A lot of fun for everyone.
Extra Wii MotionPlus makes this a no-brainer....

This is a very entertaining game. My favorites are the table tennis, basketball, and frisbee golf. The only minor issue I have is that they have bowling and golf again, which are already on the Wii Sports game included with the Wii system. The bowling is basically the same, but with a couple of extra challenges, and the golf is just different courses you can play on. But you are able to play them with more accuracy due to the Wii MotionPlus.

If you can get your hands on the Limited Edition that includes the 2 Wii MotionPlus, go for it. It's basically only $10 more, whereas buying a separate Wii MotionPlus on its own can cost you up to $20.
